Just been in JD Sports.
Was told by the assistant that if i buy something and i need to return it and it had 'by chance' had its price lowered then i would only get the new price refunded to me not the price i paid for it.
The only way i would get the original purchase price back was to take a gift voucher.
Is this correct?
Any feedaback would be great
Thanks
Martin

If it's not faulty the company doesn't have to refund you at all if you bought it in the shop - it's just a matter of goodwill.0

Most stores have their refund/exchange policy available on the back of their receipts, and the majority will exchange or refund at the purchase price as a goodwill gesture within a reasonable time (usually 14-28 days). As Blacksheep says, they do not have to do this unless the item is faulty. It is unusual to hear of any store with a policy like the one you have described-could there have been some confusion at all? Most places, if you return goods without a receipt, will only give you the current selling price, and that will usually be on a gift card or in vouchers, but if you are returning the goods as sold within a reasonable time and with the receipt, the vast majority of places will refund the selling price-although they are under no obligation to do so!0

Have just checked their website, and the refunds process for goods bought on the web is a typical retailers process, with a 14 day time limit-can't think that their stores are dramatically different, or everyone would just buy through the website!0

I've encountered that before in M&S, you might have got a £60 jumper for xmas, if it got reduced to £5 on boxing day thats how much ytou would get back. At least that's how it was a few years ago, might've changed now.0

things on the web are covered under the distance selling regs though where they have to accept them back0
