Octopus - Fixed Outgoing with smartmeter that won't connect to the WAN

Has anyone managed to get Octopus to agree to the 15p kwh export rate for a smart meter that is functioning correctly other than not connecting via the WAN. Even with a external T3 aerial the smartmeter is refused to connect. Other SEG providers seem to be happy with manual readings off the display of the smart meter. Octopus are stating that we can only get the 5p kwh rate.

    That is a rather key part of the functionality though, without a connection it is not actually 'smart' and 'Outgoing Fixed' requires a working smart meter unfortunately.
    SEG on the other-hand is available to those without a working smart meter and that is why it is being offered...

    What rate are other providers offering? I believe you can sign up with a different supplier for export.
