Hi I’m just wondering how much the price of my insurance will be with 6 penalty points on my license after one year. Before I received the points my insurance was 1200 a year after the points it went up to 4000. Next month I will have my first years no claims and I would of had the points over a year. was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and could give me an idea how much it might come down if at all thanks.

What were the penalty points for? It might make a difference to the insurance costs and how long it will affect the premium.

Indeed, 6 points for an insurance offence is likely to cause a higher loading then say a simple speeding offence. Insurers also seem to hate MS90 (failing to name) offences to.TELLIT01 said:What were the penalty points for? Cant confirm or deny insurers hate MS90 but as its effectively not complying with the authorities, intentionally breaking the law, almost lying by exception none of those things bode well for a future claim... will they do the same and deny who was really driving their car during an incident to ensure its covered when they let their mate drive it uninsured.TadleyBaggie said:

Plus insurers don't know what allegation led to the S172 requirement in the first place, so the MS90 may "mask" a simple speeding incident or a much more serious offence. Perhaps you did something so terrible that 6 points and a £500 fine seemed like a better option than owning up to it...DullGreyGuy said:
