I currently have around 10% of my S&S isa in legal &General global tech index , done well over the last couple of years but would I be better off in regards to fees buying the top holding stocks individually ? I would be looking to use possibly my full next year allowance .. Thanks

The legal and general fund invests in a number of different companies, and makes changes to their investments as the market changes. If you were to do this then you'd likely incur a substantial amount of trading charges. But if you just want to buy shares and keep them, then this would likely be cheaper than using a fund.

By holding the L&G tech index fund your holdings are adjusted as companies rise and fall through the index giving you the aggregate returns. You can set and forget and know you are holding the top 250 or so tech companies globally to their current market cap as it changes over time. All you need to believe in is that tech companies will progress and do well over the long term.
If you hold a selection of individual shares of the top group, will you actively manage your holdings? What if one of your holdings slips over time and is replaced by a holding you don't hold? Will you look into the individual company financial data to make informed decisions?1 -

Some people say that the large increase in Big Tech share prices is starting to look like a bubble.
It might not be this year but one day all bubbles burst.....0 -
but would I be better off in regards to fees buying the top holding stocks individuallyWhat is it about the fund fees and the brokerage or other fees that you can't determine for yourself which would allow you to make this comparison yourself? Or am I missing something else?0
