Hi, Im 71 and vegetarian. I have a yearning to visit Morocco and feel the best/safest way is to join one of these small group trips. I live in Edinburgh and have looked at quite a few but would love a recommendation for the best travel company, taking into account dietary considerations, Also what time of year is best, and how long. Im thinking a week to 10 days would probably be enough for me.

What time of year is best depends on your tolerances for temperatures. Outside of that the only other consideration is Ramadan where what's available during daylight hours in terms of food and drink becomes more limited as muslims cannot eat or drink during the day in their holy month. Alcohol also becomes more restricted during Ramadan but not totally banned.
If you are in major tourist area then clearly some food places will still be open so you won't be forced to follow but choices will be less and the month feels to dampen spirits particularly in the mid/late phase. That said, its a different experience and you can naturally go to the Iftar, the evening breaking of fast, which is an experience.0 -
Hi, I don't know about the group travel, but I have just been to Marrakech for a few nights in the last week. The weather was really hot the week before (27 degrees), but a bit cooler when we were there (up to 20 during the day, jacket weather at night). It was so lovely as a winter break to get some sun during the dreary months. I think it might be unbearably hot in our summertime. I'm vegetarian too, and had no issue finding food, we tried some small street cafes, some of the market stalls ect. All had a veggie tagine on offer amongst other foods too. A tour to Marrakech, the coast and the dessert might be a good trip, we found 3 nights in the city was enough for us, but thoroughly enjoyed it.0

I don't know if they do Morocco but I can recommend Riviera Travel for group trips. I've been on two excellent ones to Spain and India and other family to Italy and France. They were multi centre with a group manager travelling with us and local guides.0
