Home insurance claims query

Hi all. I’m a bit confused regarding home insurance renewal. We’ve had 1 claim for storm damage 2 years ago. We had another storm damage and separate leak we spoke to the insurance company about but didn’t pursue. We’ve now come to renew and any competitive quotes we are getting are almost triple what we pay now as we are told we need to log these none claims, despite not proceeding. Is this correct?

Yes it is. All incidents need to be declared.0

Thank you. It’s so annoying as we’ve not claimed but the price has now tripled for quotes.Hoenir said:Yes it is. All incidents need to be declared.Thank you0 -
Which is why many dont speak to their insurers unless they are going to claim and then "forget" to mention it at renewal.0
