That sounds like a really good result. Completely new unit and a new warranty too. Well done.
For many consumer purchases warranties don't usually leave you in a better position than the Consumer Rights Act and associated legislation do. So you are usually better off enforcing your rights under legislation rather than going down the warranty route,
But some warranties and guarantees give you better protection than the legislation and those are worth pursuing, (eg Richer Sounds)
The trick is working out which route to go down when you first have a problem. Some times people end up in a worse mess going down the warranty route than if theyd followed their rights under the legislation
But in your case it sounds like it was your persistnece that paid off in the end. Well done.
(Also a partial refund is never as attractive as a brand new replacement...)
By the way - who is the manufacturer? They sound a decent firm.0 -
Evening, yea I am happy with the outcome even if not 100% sure with the items long term reliability.
In fairness to the supplier, Garmin, their customer service have always been quick and to the point, offering a replacement including shipping both ways after sending a 30 second video of the sound.0
