Move to Octopus from EDF?
I am currently with EDF, they have a new tariff that is 14% lower than the April cap.
i am considering moving to Octopus, even though their current fix is slightly more it has no exit fees.

Has anyone moved to Octopus from EDF, was it quick and painless? On their website they say they can do it in 3 days.
One thing I like about EDF is they bill each month, rather than every six while my credit builds up.
Their app is good as I can track my daily usage and compare to previous year.
Martin says prices could go down again in June, so my thinking is with Octopus I could fix now and switch if it lowers in June?
I know Octopus get a lot of recommendation, but have they grown too quick? Is the grass actually greener?

Octopus bill monthly and you can call them to go on Monthly Variable DD so that credit doesn't build up.The Octopus app is very good with blogs and lots of useful information.2

@Risco I've moved from EDF to Octopus on a single rate SVR tariff (ie. not E7). Smooth quick switch, usual delays with opening meter reading/final meter reading getting "approved" by the "3rd party".
The on-line Octopus My Account seems to update quicker than the App at present but the "new home for your data" is pretty useless IMHO, the old dashboard (still accessible) is better giving 30 minute usage, but navigation on both is pretty dire, the App is much better in that respect and currently gives the 30 minute usage (that assumes you have a smart meter of course which I assume you may have if tracking daily usage with EDF).
I haven't found a way of doing proper "comparison" with Octopus, which EDF's Energy hub is quite good at (but even that doesn't give the split on E7 usage), don't know about EDF's App.
I'm guessing you may be on EDF's new billing system if you are actually getting monthly "statements" but note you can also get Whole amount Monthly DD on EDF, but some have said the billing can be somewhat irregular on the old billing system.1 -
@Risco Now seen the EDF App, think it's pretty poor compared to "My Account" where also using the Energy Hub is much easier than the App.1
