OK so facebook went down and I didn't realise it and tried to get in so now it wants me to type in my password. Which of course I don't remember. Asking it to reset by emailing me a 6 digit code doesn't work as nothing comes through. I've ticked the alternative to send it to my FB account instead on an alternative device. I've got one working but where do I look for the log in bit??
There was something at one point that said they could send a code to my phone but it didn't recognise my mobile for some reason.

Check junk email, probably gone in there.Note that Facebook had an outage earlier so you'll probably find it recognises you now.

Thanks @Neil_Jones
but nothing at all going in to junk. I did eventually get a code on messenger but because i'd hit resend a couple of time it's out of sync I guess. I'll wander off for a bit and see if I can get it working later. hopefully it will work eventually as they've sent me a "you're answering too quickly and we think that's abusive message"! Not my fault I speed type!!!

Facebook's servers are probably struggling with the demand imposed by those trying to log on.1

finally in!! after going through about 5 help pages that said something like "problems resetting password? click here" none of which were helpful I finally got to a page where they could send me a code. Now I just have to find a safe place to save the password for the next time......I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Is it really that much safer than me having something written down that is an incomplete password but which is meaningful to me? Yes I don't have a completely random ruDHe78932rui3/./re type password on any of my accounts but I don't think they would be that easy to guess. Likely I'm wrong but so far I've been comfortable with my choses.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
