UPDATE, in case anyone has similar problems.

Looks like they give you more time than the urgent wording suggests.  Call made today and funds released.

I'd love to know what happens if you just ignore the message.
Does the money stay in limbo forever?
Do they cancel the transaction and return the money to the account after a while?
Do they freeze all of your assets, clamp your car and send round the SWAT team?

On one particular call I did ask the blocked payment script-reader what happened if I just refuse to be interrogated and they said they didn't know! Obviously that's not in their list of possible replies...
