Parking ticket from U.K. parking control

I am hoping for some advice and help . I am
registered disabled and parked in the disabled space at a car park run by U.K. parking control .

They told me I was parked over the line and I admit I was slightly parked over the line but not causing a hindrance or anyone’s way .

My concentration is not the best due to anxiety and to be honest I didn’t notice , I was just focusing getting my prescription and getting back out .

They are now threatening me with bailiffs and demanding I pay £170 or they will send bailiffs .  The letter reminds me numerous times this company is the same bailiff company on the tv 🙄 I am worried sick and a little shocked and overwhelmed from it

Shall I pay it or let them take it to court ?

Will they?  Do they really say that?  I suspect they've panicked you into thinking that.

If the letter has come from DCB Limited, you ignore it, just powerless debt collectors - please read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, which tells you all about debt collectors.

If the letter is from DCB Legal, come back for more advice. Similarly, if you receive a DCB Legal letter in the future, come back on this thread for further direction.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They are not threatening you with bailiffs are they it does not say that on the paperwork.
You need to start by reading the newbies thread on this forum about the scam that you are now in, no one pays UKPC.

Presumably you mean you are a Blue Badge holder and legitimately parked in an accessible parking bay.

Plan A is always a complain to the landowner and your MP, and it is never too late to do so.

Are the threatogrammes you are receiving from DCB Limited, or DCB Legal Limited? The former are powerless debt collectors and can safely be ignored. The latter are solicitors and must not be ignored.

UKPC will take you to court if you do not respond to them. They will probably take you to court even if you do respond. Do not panic because they will in all probability chicken out a few weeks before any court hearing when they see a robust defence you will produce with the assistance of the regulars on this forum.
UKPC signs are always inadequate and incapable of forming a contract with a motorist, and will be one of several defence points available to you.

Please tell us where the alleged event occurred, show us a redacted copy of the Notice to Keeper, but leave all dates showing, and a redacted copy of the latest letter. you have received.
Please also show us any photos taken by UKPC at the time, but ensure to redact your number plate.
Please also tell us the sequence of events since the alleged parking event. For example, did you receive a notice to driver on the windscreen, or just a notice to keeper through the post? For example,
Did you appeal the initial charge?
    Did you appeal to PoPLA?

Thanks for the advice . The letter is from Direct collections bailiffs Ltd .  I have read the letter again and it doesn’t directly say bailiffs but reading between the lines and the fact they have highlighted they are part of the bailiff tv programme panicked me .  I have attached the letter for further advice . Sorry if I’m a bit vague with this , I’ve never been in this position before

I added some more comments to my previous post, so please re-read it.

Direct Collections Bailiffs Limited are powerless debt collectors, and can safely be ignored. We do not need to see that letter.

Do not ignore anything from Debt Collections Bailiffs Legal Limited, nor from any other solicitor. It will probably be headed Letter of (or before) Claim.

"the fact they have highlighted they are part of the bailiff tv programme panicked me."

That's why they included it, even though the programme was taken off air in disgrace.

Quite understandable but this rogue trade is unregulated and that's how they get results with threats, intimidation and bending the truth.

Where in Wales did this parking event take place?  Have you raised a complaint with the landowners?

You only need to pay it if a judge says so.

Please take your time to read the NEWBIES, and tell us where the alleged event occurred, and provide other information requested so far. There is no rush. Even if you get a letter of/before claim, you will still have time to get up to speed before you need to respond.
