DPD Help

Ordered new phone + contract and it's to be delivered by DPD. Sender has marked it as only being allowed to be delivered to the address I gave them.

However DPD keep trying to deliver it to a different number in the same street, then claiming I'm not at home. They are trying to deliver out of office hours to what is an empty office. Despite that building having a different number, than the one on the delivery address, they keep trying. Intercepted the driver, but they say they can't deliver to me as it's the wrong address, even though my front door has the correct number on it, driver is claiming it's wrong address.

Contacted the seller and did multiple times, update delivery with picture of my actual front door, but they still don't get the message. 

Now paying for a contract I can't use. Can't change the delivery address as it's not allowed. Any one any tips? Thinking of cancelling the purchase still have a couple of days to do so, although that gives me other problems.

    Who is the seller?

    Certainly you can't change the delivery address with DPD.

    Firstly, you have no contract with them. Their contract is with the seller.

    Secondly, there used to be a known scam where the scammer would attempt to divert a genuine delivery to a different address. They will be wary of that.

    Why aren't you willing to cancel the contract?
  • My phone packed it in, so need new one. Vodafone have been quick and cancelled my old contract and dumped it with O2. For the next 2 months travelling the EU for work, so need a contract with roaming.

    The seller says they can’t change delivery address because with a contract has to be delivered to my home address.

    Thee real problem is the DPD driver seems adamant the door with my house number 96 on it isn’t the right door number, but the one with 104 is…

    Sounds to me like someone has selected the wrong address when booking it in.

    You need to contact the seller. 

    They, or someone within their logistics department, can log into their mydpd account and add an extra note to the consignment. This will then pop up on the drivers scanner for the next delivery attempt.

    I'm sure you can select a different address in DPD app for them to leave product.

    Not according to their website:

    How can I change my delivery address?
    To change to a different address, please contact the sender of your parcel.
    Why can't we do this for you directly? Retailers like to know when the delivery address is changed and prefer to manage this themselves.

    OP hasn't told us why they are unwilling to cancel the current, seriously flawed contract. As I see it, DPD will just continue to attempt delivery at No.104 until they happen to catch someone in who accepts the parcel. That could lead to even more problems.

    Something doesn't add up. Why would the delivery driver repeatedly try to deliver to 104 if it doesn't say 104 on the parcel. Either there has been a mistake and 104 has been incorrectly selected by you when buying or the driver is number blind!

    I'm sure you can select a different address in DPD app for them to leave product.
    That was an option the shipper can turn on or off, either by default, by consignment or by recipient.

    go into settings on the app and you can a new delivery address to your other one

    As mentioned shippers can block this option for their consignments and typically do for high value items to avoid credit card fraud.
  • OP if you can find a number for the local depot they may be able to advise or you can email the CEO contact for DPD available on the CEO email website.
