Funeral Plans

Just looking for advice. My parents have been very independent until their early 80's when they agreed to a LPA for Health.
Just discovered that my parents (in late 80's) have two funeral plans each, one is paid up and covers literally everything (Gold standard) and the second plan is with with the Coop they are paying a monthly amount and have been for many years. The policy was taken out years ago when Dad did not have dementia both parents are now in a care home due to health issues and no LPA for Property so I dont see any options apart from to continue to pay the policy, however I am wondering if they can refuse to pay out due to their being a second funeral plan
We contacted the Coop to see if they can get a refund but they cant, we have been told to let them keep on paying and then use whatever is paid out for a wake which parents are happy with, as no option of a refund.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Are you sure that the one still in payment is for a funeral plan and not a life insurance policy ?1

Thanks for the comments, had to check and its payment for services. On checking the Co-op one is paid off and covers everything and the second policy is a sunlife policy which pays out for element. No Financial LPA and checked its not a life insurance policy0

Also get them to do financial LPAs as a matter of urgency. A lack of one of those will cause you far problems than a lack of health and welfare LPA would. Get your own done at the same time if you don’t already have them.0
