Help with PCP return
Options
Hi I'm new here and looking for some advice, apologies if this is not the correct forum.
We have a Vauxhall Corsa Electric which was taken out on a 4 year PCP which ends in May however we have now taken delivery of a new vehicle via my employers Salary Sacrifice scheme and so requested a Voluntary Termination of the Corsa PCP.
The VT was accepted by Vauxhall Finance in January this year and they have cancelled the direct debit. They asked us to take the Corsa to the local dealer to hand back but when we contacted the dealer to arrange they informed us they'd had no notification from Vauxhall Finance and to get back in contact with them.
Vauxhall Finance apologised and agreed to arrange a free collection of the Corsa saying that the collection company would be in contact. This was at the beginning of February but despite chase emails to Vauxhall Finance we have still not had any contact.
We really need the Corsa gone as it's taking up space outside our house (we can't park it on the drive as we need to park both our other vehicles which need access to the electric car charger). The tax for the Corsa was up at the end of February but we just renewed as it was free anyway but the MOT is also due later this month plus we are still paying the insurance.
I've tried to find out who else we can contact but have not had much joy.
Should I just notify the DVLA that we've transferred the vehicle to the finance company (as we've an email from them accepting the VT)? We can then cancel the insurance and don't need to worry about the MOT or, is there anyone else I should speak contact first?

Not quite the same but we had a car written off by the insurance company who paid out but did not arrange collection for over a month. I advised them in writing that it was parked on a public road with no insurance / tax and that as the vehicle had been paid for it was their responsibility, it was collected within the week, I can only assume that there is very little communication between the accounts who have paid out (or in your case accepted the car back) and the department arranging collection. Seems to be getting worse with people working from home.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
