Aviva funds (step down and level)

hi,
I will totally understand if no one replies to this! I have to move my childs underperforming fund into another Aviva account. however, I'm only able to choose from a list of 100+ funds and to be honest, I'm baffled.
There is around 10K to put into the fund. The money will be in there for probably 5 - 10 years, but what fund to choose?
Ideally I'd like good returns and low running costs!! Who wouldn't!?

If anyone would like to advise that would be amazing. The link for the funds is here:
under the product name i have to choose from the drop down list (Aviva portfolio, step down and level)
Any thoughts welcome

Ideally I'd like good returns and low running costs!!The Aviva charges were good in their day (for a legacy product)Any thoughts welcomeWithout knowing what you are in and why you think it is underperforming (is it actually underperforming or is it relative to the assets it invests in which may have been in a negative period), along with risk profile, nobody can answer your question.

hi thank you for your reply.5K was invested in 2005 and there is now 9.4K in teh account. The investment is within AViva UK Equity INcome 2 S4 if that helps. I just don't think it's done very well.0

I just don't think it's done very well.It has done perfectly fine. Its out performed sector average.

It is a perfectly good fund for your UK equity allocation. However, its poorly invested by being 100% UK equity. You should be looking at global equity (including UK). Aviva have choices in that area.

If you want a broader range of equites I'd look at the global equities one. At 13.4%, compared to other global equity funds it has a high weighting to the UK but you could argue that there is some value here and anyway, unless you're able to move your money elsewhere, it isn't like you have much of a choice.

If you want some long term growth and are ok with some risk then I agree that an international equity tracker would work, or even just add a US equity tracker. find one with the lowest fees. And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.1
