Staysure insurance for pre-existing conditions. Rip off.

I've been afflicted by mental illness so have to declare pre-existing conditions. I was just about to pay the £920 for Staysure insurance for their crappy annual coverage when I thought I'd take a quick look on Compare the the MeerKat again, which some months back no quotes came back that would cover me. Anyway I did get a quote this time and was surprised that theirs was over £300 cheaper with better coverage, so I paid £600 for annual insurance which I'm happy about. So look around guys, Don't stick to same insurance company when their are better ones out there.

OP, might be worth looking at any packages that come with bank accounts. I get the travel pack with Barclays which is basically travel insurance and RAC breakdown cover for about £14 a month that covers me and the OH. The OH has a long list of medical issues, some are covered and some aren't, but it's dirt cheap compared to buying a standalone annual policy. The RAC cover is a bonus really.

It will depend on different companies viewing your illness at different times (and where you are going obviously) . We are with Staysure and both have medical problems but pay £132, up from just over £100 last year.
We did have to claim just before covid when my wife was diagnosed with Skin Cancer and we needed to cancel our Vegas trip and they were excellent from start to finish and paid our full claim quickly.
