Changing address

Hi all,
I recently checked my credit rating which is all good but have a potential issue. I have rented in London for a few years but have kept my bank account registered at my parents address for ease (as in London you often only have a years stability when renting).
I am now looking to apply for a mortgage. For my proof of address to match my credit file, will I need to change my bank details across to my current rented property? If so does this take long or is it relatively easy?
I have tried to submit a credit check with my rental address but do not get recognised, they can only 'find' me using my home address, which I assumed it due to my bank details being registered there.
Thanks in advance.

I'm a bit surprised unless you only pay rent and nothing else for the place where you are living. (so no gas, electric, water, sewage). Hopefully you don't have car insurance registered at the wrong address as that would invalidate the policy.
It takes about 3 months normally for things to register on your credit history. Whether that applies to addresses as well I'm not sure as most people change their address when they move.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. But my credit file can't seen to find me on there unless I only use my family address where my bank account is registered. It is only my bank account where this is the case, no other bills or insurance.
So I guess I should change my bank address asap if it might take 3 months to show up!0
