EDF from 05.05.2021
You need to post some actual readings0 -
There's another post on here recently with someone asking for help yet despite lots of people asking refusing to provide actual readings to help them with their issues.1
-
I'll save time:
"Why do I pay a ridiculous amount for power"
"Your real readings probably show you use a lot of power"6 -
I don't think we are going to resolve this - looking back OP has posted about 10 times in recent years raising similar questions. He's a heavy user - using over 5,000 kWh in one quarter.
With high usage comes high bills.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill3 -

Good grief,is this still ongoing?,not spending/wasting time going back through the threads, again.
Have any of the questions asked,or information requested been provided?,likewise have any of the actions or suggestions been acted on?,I assume not.
To put things in a nutshell,so to speak,if your asking the same question, the answer remains the same essentially.
As little,if anything has changed or moved forward,in any meaningful way the best advice that can be offered to the OP is to go back through the previous threads about largely the same thing and act upon the information contained therein.

This is important stuff to teach at school along with other financial imperatives, like; banking, savings, credit cards, mortgages, compound interest etc.
Compulsory for all children between 13 and 16 with a reality check that if they don't understand that it will likely cost them hundreds of thousand pounds through life!Your life is too short to be unhappy 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom!2 -
Ok, just caught up on this and basically there are two divisions within EDF, one that deals with normal domestic users and then there is the EV department. It turned out that in April 2023 the EV department changed our tariff from dual rate to single rate, this wasn't made clear to either my wife or I as we continued to run everything as if we were on two separate tariffs, I scheduled my car charger to only start after cheap rate was supposed to be active.
We were not aware of this, if it was in writing then it wasn't clear to either of us and I have paper bills which show two rows showing a day rate and an evening rate, our smart meter also still had rate 1 and rate 2 present.0 -
I've had a meter with Rate 1 and Rate 2 present and didn't assume I was on a dual rate tariff. How often do you get a bill?
So, you used a lot of power on a possibly high rate tariff and it produced a big bill?0 -
