I would add a word of warning though - that whatever you go for - go for a reputable brand rather than a no-name product. You might be able to save 30 percent compared to a Hikvision (or Dahua is another decent brand) but you'll pay for it with headaches further down the line when things go wrongAnyone thinking of buying anything from that company might want to consider this:From Wikipeida: 'Due to its involvement in mass surveillance of Uyghurs, the Xinjiang internment camps, and national security concerns, the company has been placed under sanctions from the U.S. and European governments.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikvision#References

Having been in the industry for a while - I can say that if you want any kind of security system not linked to China in any way - you'd need an NDAA compliant camera - whereby the software/components etc. are guaranteed to have no links whatsoever to the Chinese government - the prices of which are considerable. The Chinese government uses many brands - and there's of course the scaremongering of 'they'll be watching you'. If you have the budget then yes I'd recommend an NDAA compliant camera - but they tend to be 30-50 percent more in cost for the same kit.DJI make drones - the Russian government are using them to bomb Ukraine - it's not something DJI have control over, as they're bought from the existing supply chain - as is likely not something that Hikvision has control over with the Chinese government.
It's not a perfect world in so many respects - but until there's a British manufacturer selling this kind of kit for similar prices, the majority of people will rightly or wrongly still go for Chinese brands. But as you say - it's good to highlight it and let people make their own decisions.2 -
Any camera that can be seen is a bit useless, they are extra careful to hide the face, and the police are likely slow to show up, if at all. Lighting and a hidden camera without infrared is my preferred choice for getting faces.
An alarm is more likely to have them running off or moving on in the first place.
likely the best price for an easy install solar Alarm. No solar Response or Yale option?

Response re-branded as ERA with poor choices.1 -
I have 2 tapo cameras one front one rear. I'm not very tech minded but I found these easy to fit and linked them to mobile and ipad. At the moment I am watching front one on mobile waiting for a delivery. I have a memory card in each one. It was fascinating to be able to watch them on my devices from my hotel in Spain whilst on holiday.1
