Web Site Blocked in Opera but not in Opera Private Window

When I visit https://forums.raspberrypi.com in Opera browser I get the error message

Sorry, you have been blocked

You are unable to access raspberrypi.com

yet when I use a private window in Opera I can access the site OK.

I have cleared the cookies but I still get this problem.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I have contacted the site but had no answer yet.

I'm using Opera (android version) and I've just opened your provided link without any problems.

Are you running the latest version?

I believe Opera disables all extensions in Private Mode.

If the issue resolves itself in private mode than an extension you have is causing the problem.

The site loads fine in chrome. Can you try a different browser?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Do you have Opera’s built in VPN switched on?

the site might be ‘protecting’ itself by blocking their IP addresses. Might have had some naughty boys visiting or a large number accessing through the Opera VPN, triggering DDoS protection

If you have other browsers then sounds like a good excuse to stop using Opera, not that an excuse should be needed.

For your problem, you haven't got a browser based VPN running have you  - Menu -> Settings -> Privacy -> VPN

You could of course be blocked by over zealous moderators , far too many forums suffer from this unfortunately

Most have keywords set up so if you say a certain word or variation of, it flags up and if you don't toe the party line, you're a gonner

I use a different browser for different forums and different email addresses that way I can stay logged in all the time.

i.e Opera for raspberry pi, google for MSE, google for ****@gmail.com,  firefox for ******@gmail.com etc.

I also have a laptop which gave me no problems accessing the raspberry pi forums using Opera so I uninstalled Opera, cleaned out the registry of any mention of Opera, removed any files and folders relating to Opera and reinstalled Opera and now I can access the raspberry pi forums again.
