Oral B toothbrush head... when to replace..?

Not sure if this counts as 'tech' so apologies if on the wrong board.
I think I must be going nuts because I keep reading that the heads on Oral B electric toothbrushes "signal" to the user when they need replacing. In fact, the newly-bought pack of replacement heads sitting in my bathroom cabinet proudly and boldly states just this...
... and then neglects to say HOW, anywhere on the packaging, believe it or not.
I've googled this and looked on youtube. Nothing. Can anyone please enlighten me?

And don't forget to take the head off daily and clean the blinking thing. I was using one for about 10 years (replacing the head regularly) without realising this was a recommendation.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Shows you on the front of the packaging Bristle Technology, when the colour of the bristles change from green to yellow.1

Doesn't show any such thing on mine. Just the claim. Thanks.0

Are you sure you are using genuine Oral-B brushes and not just cheaper copies ?1

No different to changing your manual toothbrush....Every 2 or 3 months or when the outer bristles fade, as per the packaging.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I thought the same but my original head was still the same colour when I noticed the bristles were softer than they were originally.
I popped the head into a cup and added water every now and then and the colour never changed, added water and mouthwash and
still no colour change. Maybe I got a faulty one but not sure the colour thing can be trusted?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
