I have paid for the part and I can fit it myself.poppy12345 said:Why did you go to the dealer and not to direct line insurance, who have now replaced RSA? If you go to the dealer then yes I would expect them to charge you.
I have never asked the dealership to do any work at all.
Fact remains I paid that dealership in full for a part that they have never even provided
On three separate occasions they have said the part was on it's way.
And on three occasions they have lied to me.0 -
You need to source the part from elsewhere and get on with driving your car. The fact you haven't is your decision.0

I know full well it is my choice, I am not disputing that.Arunmor said:You need to source the part from elsewhere and get on with driving your car. The fact you haven't is your decision.
Fact still remains the dealership failed to.advise as should have been the case? And not to mention charging someone for a product and not providing that product.
Pretty poor tbh.0 -
If you have paid for the part & it is not turning up. Ask for a refund & see if you can source it elsewhere.
But parts are not high on the priority list for manufactures, as they need them to build cars.Life in the slow lane1 -
The dealership is not in charge of the delivery of the part. They are only one part of the supply chain. They have ordered it - it hasn't turned up yet - you would need to know what the terms and conditions of your contract with them is.But given only early March - say just over 2 months later from attempted break - given potential holidays etc (e.g Chinese New Year on top of quite tight Covid restrictions in China cf most if not rest of world ) and it is currently taking nearly 5 weeks (34 days *) for shipping routed around the Cape to arrive in UK - not including handling at either end - from east - suspect you might have unrealistic expectations.Unless they offered a guaranteed delivery - you may arguably have no claim. What does the dealer part's department terms and conditions say about cancellation once ordered ?Personally - I'd put the motobality comp towards a proper afttermarket mechanical lock - and get on with enjoying the leased car - until it arrives.
