Faulty cycle

My daughter purchased a cycle from an online company, when it arrived we attempted to assemble it but found the instructions were just photocopied from a manual and extremely lacking. We could not get the handle bars to fit securely even with by tightening the brackets as tight as possible
We also.found a brake adjusting screw had a stripped thread and was useless, as this was a 5 yr olds birthday present we packaged it back up bought another from another outlet and requested a return and refund the next day . As yet they have only offered to replace some faulty parts...how do we stand on this, or should I put it in the hands off Trading standards, we do not trust the product 1 bit. Thanks..

Which retailer is it? How did your daughter pay? How much was it?magicman62 said:My daughter purchased a cycle from an online company, when it arrived we attempted to assemble it but found the instructions were just photocopied from a manual and extremely lacking. You're entitled to a refund. Trading Standards won’t intervene. Your daughter should make it clear that she’s exercising her right to return an online order within 14 days of receipt, rather than rejecting it was faulty, if the retailer still mucks about, she should speak to her card provider if that’s how she paid. Small claims court is the last resort but it’ll get sorted before then, I’m sure.0
