Car insurance not renewed

Hi all hope someone can advise. Many many yrs ago around 22 yrs. I had letter from car insurer saying could not renew with them as they could not offer a competitive quote. Going forward and getting quotes were the question asks have you ever had insurance cancelled, declined or refused. Would this be relevant now? Does this mean I was refused? On MID/CUE you can request info on yourself but only goes back max 7 yrs. Any help appreciated. Thx

No. They simply declined to quote.

Some however also ask if an insurer has ever not offered renewal terms and to that question you'd now have to answer yes.1
