I don't know about Sterling but IIRC Chase doesn't currently have anyone back.

I believe if you leave Starling they impose a minimum one year ban on you returning.

I think the key words in danny's response were believe and minimum

What about opening a Monzo Current Account?

Yes, I'm just going by reports I've read on here. They like any bank are not obliged to take you back.

Monzo I believe impose a minimum 30 day ban.

You could open another current account with whoever you use for your main day to day banking and then switch that.

The beauty of new technology. Effortless to automatically block. Businesess unsurprisingly aren't interested in unprofitable customers. Why should they be.

I joined Starling in August 22 purely for switching, hadn't intended to use them again but partner and I decided to get a join account and Starling seemed good due to the interest payments, I opened a new Starling account first just in case in January, they still had my details and I could just login again with the new account and we were able to create the joint account fine. Obviously YMMV

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
