Convert KAR to MIDI

How do you convert a KAR file to a MIDI file? I read somewhere about adding .mid but that didn’t work. I seen sites that are supposed to convert the files but since this isn’t for me I am conscious to not download something unwanted on to someone else’s computer.

I'm guessing you mean karaoke files? (There are a couple of formats with the extension KAR)

I don't know of any convertors guaranteed to work, I'm afraid as normal midi doesn't include synchronised lyrics and KAR is an unofficial format so not standardised. Online convertors tend to work with the Band in a Box version of KAR

Rather than install unknown software use sound/voice recorder and record the files to the midi format?

Maybe a touch slow if you have a lot of files though?

How do you propose to use a sound recorder to produce midi files?

How would you do that? I know nothing about this kind of thing.
