  • @Watty1 exciting times ahead now that you are free to do what you want to do! <3  You'll have to tell us what items you decide to get rid off, but also which HG products you decide to keep and why, once you've gone through and radically got rid of the fluff!

Just had a few INs- this is not my month for getting rid of stuff!  :disappointed:

    • CuticleLAB - cuticle oil pens x 3 (Margarita scent, cookies scent, and fruit salad scent): a bundle pack of three for when I am out and about.  I'm going to have one in the office, one in my bag and probably the other in another bag. I did consider another bottle of the Essie oil, but for ease of use when out, I figure the pens are the way forward. No leaking, easy and quick application.
    • Mad About Skin- Protect & Hydrate Sunscreen SPF50 PA++++ 100ml x 2:  Was buy one get one free and this is my favourite face sunscreen- I use it every day, so worth it to buy this now to get a whole bottle free!

    UU
    • Sample tube - THE 7 VIRTUES Lotus Pear Eau de Parfum 1.7ml:  This was a free sample little tube of perfume.  Description - "juicy Williams Pear and Peach meet soft florals of upcycled Rose and Orange Flower, Jasmine, Lotus Flower, and Gardenia.".  Actually liked this one, but googled it and it's quite expensive, so not sure I would buy it.
    • Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Oil Control Setting Powder- 90 Translucent:  use this daily, bought the replacement the other week.

Still getting rid of stuff or repurposing it now, today two eyeshadows went, one that was sticky on use and one that seemed to have turned to dust.

Two Laura Mercier lip glosses binned - they had become very sticky in the make up bag.   I still have a few bits to clear as having decanted everything into one bathroom I can see that there is still "too much stuff"
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Hello all,

I want to re-join. Have posted on and off over the years but life took over. Thanks @VALM for keeping this thread going.

Last time I posted was during lockdown and I said I would stop buying stuff because I wanted to buy a house. Finally, got the house and about 6 boxes of toiletries that will be moving to another city. Need to get serious with reducing  this stash so hoping this thread will make me accountable, especially since I've discovered Arab perfumes. Will post last ins for month/year so everything else will now be just use ups and replacements.

    Ins:

Ajmal Sacrifice - Arab perfume dupe of Alien

Latafa - Qawa (sp?) perfume - Smells amazing

    Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker

    Soft and gentle roll on

    Sukin cream cleanser

    Neutrogena hydro boost moisturiser

    UUs:

Bakhour perfume oil by Al-Rehab - WNBA, floral but quite masculine. Lovely when layered with something else.

My mum sent me a parcel with clothes for the kids and some perfume samples for me so I have 3 NBIs to add to the list:

2x J'adore eau de parfum infinissime
1x Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum Intense

Both smell lovely but very strong so just one skoosh required!

    A few UUs this weekend
    • Batiste Dry Shampoo - Dark Hair (Brown): Last used up a dry shampoo at the end of November, so this one has been going for a while.  I have been trying to use it less frequently when I am at home and not really seeing anyone- I think the less stuff in my hair the better, perhaps?  There's stories of dry shampoo clogging up hair follicles and causing/contributing to hair loss, so I am trying to minimise usage.  I hate greasy hair though and I don't want to shampoo every day, so it's very catch 22.
    • Kerastase Genesis Fondant Renforcateur Conditioner: Nice conditioner, hair itself has been in good condition
    • LilyLolo Mineral Blush- Goddess:  From my PP list!  A deeper more rusty rose red colour.  Have been focusing on this for a while, at first because I didn’t like it, but the more I used the more I liked it.  Has a slight shimmer and gives a lovely flush on my cheeks.  Purchased in 2017 according to my email receipt, so probably good it's gone!  I'd repurchase, it is pretty and I have nothing like it.

I had another allergic reaction last weekend which was absolutely rubbish, as the last time was September, so I thought I was over it now :'( It's either the Skin1004 brightening ampoule as I had been using it a week and a half (though was using on my neck for longer with no issue), OR it was the Klairs BB cream which I used last Saturday and my skin was blah on Sunday when I woke up :(  I've cut out the BB cream and kept using the Skin1004 ampoule as an experiment and whilst the skin around my mouth still feels a bit tight, it's all much better, so I think it must be the BB cream. Or perhaps how it interacts with the Skin1004?  Without being able to see a dermatologist or allergist, who knows!!  And even if I narrow it down to one product, what is the ingredient!? It's so frustrating, because I'll never know when it might happen again if I try a new/different product.  Anywhos, we might be seeing the Klairs in an OUT list soon.

PP list- 24 for 24: 6 gone so far!

    1)      Tony Moly - The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Skin toner: tbh I think the TM toner is actually gone, as I kept topping up the bottle with other toners!  But since I called the toners I used to top up the bottle the empties, and not the TM one, I will say that I still have this to use up.  I wont refill now, and then when finished the bottle I can finally call the TM toner an empty!

    2)      Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Oil- I WILL use this this year!!

    3)      Benefit Gogo Tint: bright cherry lip n cheek tint.  Probs will last a hundred years!

    4)      Sugarpill loose eyeshadow in Absinthe:  A sparkly green, of which I have many.

    5)      Sugarpill loose eyeshadow in Penelope:  a super reflective metallic copper with extra large particles. Too flakey and annoying, and not really my colour.

    6)     DR. CEURACLE Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence:  expired, will use on body.

    7)   Barry M eyeshadow pot in 44:  a copper shimmer

    8)   Ample N Ceramide Shot Ampoule:   expired, will use on body.

    9)   Mad About Skin antioxidant cream:  expired, will use on body.

    10)   DERMATORY - Hypoallergenic Cica Gel Cream 50ml

    11)   NEOGEN - Dermalogy White Truffle Serum In Oil Drop

    12)   Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner: expired, will use on body.

    13)   The Body Shop- Body Yogurt in Strawberry

    14)   I'm from - Mugwort Essence

    15)   MAC Black Cherry Glow Play Lipbalm:  bought in 2021.... probably should use this up now!

    16)   Skin1004 Brightening ampoule toner: used this on my neck for a few weeks before Christmas and no adverse reaction, so might attempt this on my actual face soon!!

    17)   Collection- Gloss Me Up lipgloss in Lychee: pretty shiny gloss in a peachy dusty pink colour. Not far off being done.

    18)   The Body Shop hand cream in Winter Jasmine

COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

No 7 Hydraluminous lipbalm in Coral

    Lilylolo lipstick in Love Affair

  • Ooops, I should have waited to post- I finished another item on my PP list!

    UU
    • Collection- Gloss Me Up lipgloss in Lychee: Peachy pink gloss- from my PP list. I like this one, I would repurchase.  I think I would go for a more pink version next time.
    • Cetraben Cream - 475ml: Weirdly this moisturiser has a THREE MONTH PAO which is bizarre. I couldn't find any explanation on the internet as to why it was so short, but as it literally has fire hazard warnings on the bottle, I did try and keep to the PAO as much as I could and not go over too much.  Opened at start of November, so technically should have stopped using it at the start of Feb....  And this bottle is HUMONGOUS so quite hard to use up in 3 months unless the whole family are using it. Foolishly I bought two at the time due to a good discount so I will be slathering myself in this for the next three months. Next time I will purchase smaller size.

PP list- 24 for 24: 7 gone so far!

Closing the month off by re-purposing a Nioxin shampoo to the kitchen hand wash container. It has a lovely smell but irritated my scalp but will make a great hand wash and is one more thing gone from the bathroom cupboards.

Uu The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum - I dont have any left in stash however last weekend I bought the Q&A Niacinamide cleanser from TESCO mistaking it for Serum so will be using this instead. Hoping it will work on the cluster of blackheads on my nose.

With 3 days left this month I only have 1 other item that will be gone which is the Bath & Body Works body lotion as the tube is cut open and i think it will be gone today.

Other UUs not in my list:-

Lacura deodorant - WNBA. The formula was too wet.

OGX Shampoo - this was the Keratin one. I have returned to the coconut oil one.

Nail polish remover - repurchased from TESCO.

Lacura Cleanser - HG second cleanser.  Repurchased.

I have been trying to hit pan in 2 eyeshadows and am still hopeful of doing so this month.

Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
