Artwork for Insurance

Hi

I've been given a piece of Artwork sadly that may be worth more than the single item allowance on my home insurance.

I think I need to get it valued?

I understand there are services where I can send photos in and get a valuation back? Is this suitable for insurance? If not, what is??

Thanks in advance .

Depends on what sort of value it is... clearly the more expensive it is the more evidence will be required.

In principle an online place could be ok assuming it's not overly valuable. Maybe worth checking what qualifications/memberships they have etc as clearly anyone can setup a website easily.
