Capital One Cashback paid early?

I had my capital one cash back (3% from first 3 months, and 1% thereon after) credited to my account on 18th Dec.
In the T's and C's, it says it would be credited 'some time in January'.

I was hoping to do all my xmas and sale shopping, earning my cashback on it, getting it in Jan, then closing the account (don't actually need it anymore). This little alteration of theirs will mean that to get the cashback on my xmas/sales shopping, I'd have to wait until next Dec (08) to claim it.

Has anyone else's been paid early? Would you expect an additional payment in January perhaps? This is a teeny weeny bit annoying.

Yes - just had a look at my account and I was credited 17th Dec! I'm not even sure what they have paid me for. I started the account in Nov and it looks as though they have paid for Nov and part of Dec. Going to have to sit down and try to work it out!!
