utility warehouse billing wrong?

https://ibb.co/NrcyyWy

ive only just noticed this on my bill, does anyone else think its wrong in what they are doing or is it just me, here is my dilema

i was billed £81.77, my monthly direct debit is £120 this should equate to a credit of £38,23 but on my bill its only showing £32.52??

are they allowed to do this? i have attached my bill so you can look over, ive asked them about this and they say they dont add vat on my credit?? this is why it shows only £32.52 and not £38,23

any one else with utility warehouse and have the same issues? i have to say having been with edf and others, at least they show everything including vat be it credit or vat and always take direct debits in full off, not like my bill (i paid £120 and they only took off £114.29 minus vat)

As long as the unit rates shown on your bill are also net of VAT then the bill is correct.

Utility Warehouse's approach to VAT causes a lot of confusion. You're not the first person to query it here, and I very much doubt you'll be the last.

The ironic part is that if there is ever a change in the VAT rate, their system will cope unchanged whereas many others will have some issues.
... but I agree it is hard for customers, who don't happen to be accountants, to follow what they are doing and why...

my unit rates dont include vat either, so am i right in thinking when i leave and get my final bill, will they add all the vat on from all the bills ive had all the way to my final bill ?

plus 5% vat on top on all bills, so confusing uw system the way they do their bills

No, you've already paid the VAT.  It was skimmed off each time your DD payment was taken.
