Hard or soft checks for Virgin Money saver account or Wealthify saver account

Hi forumites,
I have been "shopping" around for a better interest rate as my Halifax Reward Bonus saver (currently at 4.1% or so will be ending after 12 months in May; they've notified me to renew etc.).
Been looking at either the Virgin defined access e-saver or the Wealthify savings account (I had taken advantage of the £50 MSE Wealthify offer a year ago, this just "matured", and I like the app)
Does anyone know if either do a hard or a soft check when applying for the accounts?
I've only found info on Virgin current accounts, not the savings ones.
Thank you for helping out with info

the Virgin current account would be a hard check. Savings accounts would be a soft check.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1

Is this a general thing, savings accounts being a soft check, and current accounts often being a hard check?
(I know there's a thread on the forum that lists the current accounts with hard/soft checks).0
