Directions Questionnaire (N180)

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the support on the Newbies thread so far. Following the information has been easy to follow and really helpful.

I had an original Court Claim from ParkingEye at the beginning of January, submitted my defence at the end of January (after completing AOS) and I am currently waiting for a Directions Questionnaire (N180) to be sent to me by the court.

I have however just received a copy of the Directions Questionnaire (N180) from ParkingEye but I haven't received an original for me to complete from the court. They also haven't dated the N180 they have sent to myself and the court which is also slightly concerning.

I was under the impression the court would send out the relevant documents and I was to wait for any new correspondence but I just wanted to check that this is correct? Seeing the ParkingEye one before receiving a blank copy for me has slightly concerned me.

Your impression is correct.  Each party must complete the form after they receive an order from the court telling them to do so and must send it to the court and the other party. 

PE hasn't dated it because it is not required to be dated.  There is a space for a signature but not for a date.  When you get your order, you can manually complete and sign (but not date) the paper one that comes with the order or complete and download the online version with your typed signature - in either case without a date.  The online version is available here https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/65200dcf244f8e000d8e7183/N180_1023.pdf

Now that is unusual.   

Usually the Claimant files a Claim and the Defendant files a Defence.  

It's not often seen, but we have seen a Reply to a Defence filed by a Claimant before.

What exactly have you received from the Claimant?

@KeithP - I think I said the wrong name... not their defence, more their explanation of claim and response to my initial defence?

Received the N180 form today to complete before mid March so will continue with the process.
