Royal Mail Prices March 2024
I'm sure there is much to discuss beyond my concern, however small business (non VAT registered) maybe interested to know code BPL small parcels 2nd class are increasing to £3.19 which I think is up 25p. Bit of a shocker.
I know Soolin has helped me in the past if there's another code that is cheaper, but as far as I can see this is the only code (apart from large letters) that doesn't attract VAT.
Does this now make it cheaper for a small business (non VAT reg) to use the Post Office counter I wonder?

I actually gave up my business account some years back as it was more expensive than online prices. I'm currently paying £2.99 for a 2nd class small parcel and £3.29 RM48 both of which have free collection. My business account did not allow me to make claims for loss or damage either, but using a standard RM account does.ballisticbrian said:Royal Mail Prices March 2024

For me it wasn't just the prices that made it more expensive it was all the extras, fuel charges etc that was added on.
However, as for business codes I'm sure there are others who are better placed to advise and hopefully someone else will log in to assist.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you Soolin. I do remember when RM last put up BPL small parcels higher than online / post office postage but they subsequently put it down again as I recall. I guess they are seeing what the market will tolerate or whether people will switch.
You can make claims on OBA, there is a link in the top right of the OBA page called "customer claims" but they have recently become more strict on the evidence of cost and I recently had to complain as they missed "claim for postage only" message which used to be a thing.
There is a certain amount of convenience having a statement with your costs on each month and an end of day at an appropriate time.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
