LIDL SOUTHAMTON - 84 YEAR OLD DRIVER / NEED TO APPEAL

In Scotland you are untouchable! There was no hassle coming your way. You can safely ignore private PCNs in 2024 (albeit keep an eye on the new law coming in soon).Haylbo said:I honestly wouldn't waste your time. Pay it while you still have the reduced rate (if they offered it)
I used the Lidl charge station to charge my car and didn't realise that i still had to stay no longer than the 3 hours (this was in Scotland).
Not only did the charger not work, it charged me and then I also got a fine for being 5 minutes over!
They weren't interested at all.
Just pay it, not worth the hassle
The above quoted post is the wrong advice for private parking charges but the fact people think they'll 'pay a scam PCN to avoid the hassle' demonstrates in black & white how & why it has become so very lucrative for the 'shyster'* rogue element of the parking industry.
Luckily people like us - and the Government - think very differently and have sussed the 'extortion'* model.
* words used by MPs in the HoC.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

New tactic from the malnourished at ParkingEye; register newbie accounts and beg people to pay the reduced rate?Haylbo said:I honestly wouldn't waste your time. Pay it while you still have the reduced rate (if they offered it)

Thanks for the info.Coupon-mad said:Don't use a template.
Just get him to admit to driving and not try to talk about himself in the 3rd person.
State the info about his age and medical conditions and state that he needs more time when shopping at Lidl but there's no mechanism offered to claim longer under the Equality Act 2010, which is illegal. If he has a Blue Badge attach a pic of that & the receipt.
Just so I'm understanding right. He admits he was the driver, that he is 84 years old and needs more time to do his shopping. I thought the golden rule was not admit who was driving? Will POPLA look at this favourable?0 -
Obviously with that receipt & blue badge attached, I expect ParkingEye to cancel it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Which piece of advice DPD? There's been quite a bit of advice given.D_P_Dance said:Oh dear? Dreadful advice. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

We won against PE at Popla in a very similar situation. I did appeal to PE first but of course they dismissed my appeal. I didn't name the driver just stated that the BB holder was in the car. See. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6494351/parking-eye-blue-badge-overstay#latest4

He doesn't have a blue badge unfortunately. Back in his day people with autism were just treated as quirky and a bit wierd. When we went to the Dr a few years ago to get him diagnosed , they said it wouldn't be worth going through it now. So we don't have a blue badge or formal diagnosis. That said I will do what you have said. Thank youCoupon-mad said:Obviously with that receipt & blue badge attached, I expect ParkingEye to cancel it.2 -
That is the worst advice possible. It should be deleted if possible, and certainly ignored.Haylbo said:I honestly wouldn't waste your time. Pay it while you still have the reduced rate (if they offered it)
Just pay it, not worth the hassleFollow @Coupon-Mad’s advice. Appeal to Parkingeye with Lidl receipt attached. Write it the way she suggested specifically mentioning the appellant’s age and need for additional time. A blue badge isn’t necessary.I’ve done a few of these Parkingeye/Lidl tickets with 100% success rate. Also ask for the vehicle to be added to a “white list” so it won’t be charged for overstaying again (not available at all locations but worth requesting). Do not use a template.Let us know how the appeal turns out. In the very unlikely event that PE rejects it, we will show you how to defeat it ultimately.5 -
I would revisit the blue badge issue to assist him, if he is eligible then no time is too late.Jason.rangou said:
