Best deals for a single large leather sofa?

Options
I am after a large leather sofa but am overloaded with all the sales going on at furniture stores this christmas. Also I am a firm believer that these outlets have permanent sales on throughout the whole year anyway so I need some pointers on any genuine bargains that are around at the moment. The cheaper the better but but value for money is more important(don't want to spend less mnoey on something that is completely rubbish)

which were dearer than this in the autumn sale. (Santiago)
They are recliners and come in chocolate, black or white and its 299 for either the 2 seater or 3 seater and 269 for the chair. Delivery which includes assembly is another 50 on top. We ordered a set yesterday (quoted 10 weeks delivery) as it seemed reasonable quality for the price, the seats, backs and arms are leather and the rest vinyl but a good match. It definitely had a sturdy frame, you could feel a wood batten at the back if you poked it hard, and it was comfy. HTH

Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys.
Godiva500- I did not know marks and sparks did furniture but I see that they do on their website. I'll have to see if my local store stocks them for me to inspect.

a few people on here have said good things about the leather sofas at 'Furniture Village'. We went to have a look yesterday and they looked quite good for the money with lots of choice. They do have a few 'loss leaders' where a 3 seater and two seater combo cost under £1000 but the prices rise quite steeply after that! The combo we liked best worked out to be almost 2K  as they recommend a 'guardsman' treatment which protects and guarentees the leather for 5 years but costs £35 per seat (e.g. £105 for a 3 seater sofa) and also charge £39 for delivery.

Have you tried Ikea? Their sofas are quite reasonable.

I would try asking at the stores pertinent questions about the thickness/quality of the leather. We got a couple of sofas a few Decembers back, and they have not aged well. Our old secondhand sofa we had when we first met would probably look neat next to them now.
  • Based on previous experience I would just like to say. Avoid DFS like the plague they look good but terrible quality and appauling customer service.

We love the design and quality of Ekornes stressless, however it is expensive although possible to get through ebay in as new condition for a fraction of the retail. Especially as you only want a single sofa and not a suite worth looking into this option.

wish I had known about this site before.Last week, I purchased a Cassia range sofa £460 from DFS and along came the 5 Year Anti Stain Cover £79,while with the salesman he somehow made me believe it was for any type of damage that would happen to the sofa.He didnt advise me to read the Terms and Conditions that was on the back of the contract. And its only when I got home that I read the whole thing and realised it wasnt covering anything I thought it was.I now called them today but the Manager said it couldnt be amended.I am feeling cheated and I'm a student on a lower budget.
Please someone advise me on what to do,to get my money back.I still want the sofa but not that Anti stain cover

If you live near leeds the next clearance shop on boar lane had some leather chairs and sofas that were cheaper than normal as it is closing down.
