Hi,

My current fix rate deal  (EDF Energy direct Mar24) is coming to an end from the 1st April, is it

worth fixing now or stay on EDF  standard variable tarrif  until the new price cap kicks  in?

Below is the cheapest deal I have been offered by  EDF , currently I'm paying £150pm but this would change to £225 p/m with this new 1 year fix deal.

Gas;

Monthly estimate

£96.49 per month

Unit rate

6.11p per kWh

Standing charge

32.04p per day

(All rates inc. VAT)

Electricity supply

Monthly estimate

£129.19 per month

Unit rate

25.70p per kWh

Standing charge

40.78p per day

Annual Usage:
  • Electricity - 5452kWh

  • Gas - 17036kWh

  • Do you have a working smart meter? With heavy usage like that you could almost certainly save a substantial amount by opting for a time-of-use or tracker tariffs.

No yet, I've  been trying to  avoid having  the smart meters  fitted even though EDF keep sending me constant reminders.

I don't think I  got a choice now  as it's a requirement under most fix rate deals I have come across.

I will check out those tariffs you mentioned.
