Do I have the right to a final bill

My energy was migrated from SSE to OVO in 2022 and since then they keep making random up and down changes to the account balance under the description of “balance adjustments” but are never prepared to explain how they have calculated them and my account has been £500 in credit then adjusted to £600 in debt despite a full set of meter readings  (There is a lot more to it but that’s the headline).

I submitted a SAR in December to try and iron it out but they are yet to provide the data.

I want to draw a line under it and move to a different supplier as it has gone beyond a joke.

Is there anything that allows me to force them to finalise the account figures once and for all and prevent them randomly dredging it up months down the line and changing the financial position to suit themselves.

When you migrate. You provide your readings.

I think myself as lucky when I migrated from SSE to OVO despite OVO being a nightmare

No matter how many times I talked to them, emailed them it no difference

The lucky part was I move property to one supplied by Octopus

    End of problem

That’s the really frustrating bit, I have been through the SSE to OVO migration twice as we moved and the first time it went incredibly smoothly, the second time round it’s just been a complete headache.

Tonight they have claimed it is because the smart meter isn’t submitting readings now, despite the the fact it was working for the latest period they have adjusted and that I given twice a month readings since it lost comms with them (even more frustrating is the gas meter communicates fine via the electric meter).

    It doesn't.
The comms hub sits on top of the electricity meter but it just takes power from it.
Both the gas meter and the electricity meter have to communicate with the comms hub over the HAN which is established by the comms hub.
