Hi - the school holidays in our area are the first two weeks in april and I would love some good ideas on where we could go. We have 3 girls who will be 5, 3 and nearly 1. We would be looking for some sunshine. We have been to lanzarote at a similar time but it wasn't all that warm, not as nice as later in the year anyway. Where else could we go? Ideally no more than about 5 hours on a plane, and ideally flying from either bristol or birmingham. We need sun, sand and a heated swimming pool. We would love to stay in a private villa - we found the most perfect place in Lanzarote and so have been a bit spoilt!
Any ideas?
Thanks, Ali

have you tried cyprus? both ayia napa and pathos are really good and very child friendly. i love cyprus (been 5 times) the waterparks are also great fun for a day out.The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

I agree Cyprus is lovely. Potaris is a good family resort and a short bus ride from the livlier Aiya Napa if you want more action. I would add some caution though that a lot of things do not open until after Easter which can be timed differently there. I have been a few times in the Easter holidays and the weather is very pleasant, although it has never been warm enough to swim in the sea.Frugal Living Challenge 2024 CROFT Crafting: £151.99/250, R (visiting daughter): £165/£500 Outside activities: £214/244 (Allotment), Outside 2 (Mud monsters et al) £152 F(Family visits): £133/400 Tummy (food budget): Aiming to use full budget monthly of £2000

Egypt.
Money wise you can get a 5star hotel in Sharm for very little.
If you go to Cairo there is no beach but obviously the Pyramids, Giza etc... But a week is more than long enough.
Alexandria is on the coast and is a bit more expensive than Sharm.
Hurghada is on the coast and has some amazingly beautiful beaches. Pretty cheap to go and stay there.
Generally though i would go to Sharm, premium holiday on a budget.0 -
Paphos (Cyprus) is best
