Read post 4 of the NEWBIES thread.Camelot2193 said:Hello all. Ive started getting letter from 'Debt Recovery plus" for the £170 fine now " Demand for payment of unpaid Penalty Notice". In the letter it says they could recommend court action to be taken. Is there a risk this can result in a CCJ on my credit file? on 14th August this month it would be 6 months since the penalty notice issue date. Thanks in advance @Coupon-mad PRIVATE 'PCN'? Yeah a member of my family received the exact same worded letter a couple of weeks ago. I see the "recommend court action" as potentially attempting to fraudulently make a gain by knowingly implying a false representation of where their client would stand in the eyes of a court.Camelot2193 said:Hello all. It is the modus operandi of these bottom-dwellers to prey on the average persons ignorance of civil law procedure. They send out rubbish like the because the low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree are likely to capitulate and pay into their scam.
Hence the advice to ignore any and all debt collector letters because they cannot do anything except try and scare you. Obviously they have succeeded. Now that you are aware, top worrying.3

IF they do go to courtLDast said:Why are you even paying attention to the useless debt collectors? The advice has not changed. There is zero risk of a CCJ.
 AND you do not defend
 AND judgement goes against you
 AND you don't pay
then YES you can get a CCJ.
But if you follow the steps this will not happen.
Wait until you get a letter from a court.1
