Fence boundary issue

I am planning of selling but I have an issue with my fence (which is mine).

As you can see in the picture (standard 6 ft fence) and the neighbour behind have not been too helpful when they have been approached in the fence and old said that it was old.  They are not able to see the issue from their side.

The fence is buckeld and largely holding up the massive bush.  It is also over hanging massively and could topple over.

I know that I need to go and speak to them to try and resolve it.  But if there bush has damaged my fence and I cant replace until they do something, I am not sure of the best approach

If the offending bits of bush are on your side, can’t you just cut it back? 

Show them the photo, tell them it needs cutting back, and you want to do it in the way that will cause least problems, so what do they suggest? And if they shrug, and don’t do anything then just cut it right back to the boundary and replace the fence.

Cut the bush back so that it is not encroaching on your side to give you the access you need. You don't need their permission to do that. Will look a bit scraggly for a while but will soon green up in the spring.

You just need to talk to them unfortunately.

One of my neighbours has bamboo up against the fence (which is mine). It destroyed the last fence and will probably destroy the new one unless they get it under control. They're now making sure to cut it back more regularly (which will never be enough because it's ^(&^^**((ing bamboo but at least they're trying).

You could also offer to cut it back on their side as well, if you were so inclined.
No you shouldn't have to, but I have a neighbour's consent to do just that as needed (I do check each time) because we both know that left to them they will not do anything and it's more important to me to get it under control than it is to them.
