Applied for a current account with the co-op.
Was accepted, and got 2 emails plus one today with the account number and sort code.
Nothing by post yet.
What is the process now for the registration for online banking.
The Co-op app. Is asking about a Username, Password and 6 digit security code.
How are these set up?
Appreciate any info, especially step by step instructions.

The Co-op emails are not very informative and sometimes even confusing!
Thanks.
Thanks.

I had a very 'buggy' registration process early this morning but finally succeeded through 30 minutes of sheer persistence. I also had prompts to enter username, password, security code as if I was already registered, I entered details from a previous attempt and it failed. I then eventually randomly received a text with a security code, tried again and it allowed me to register, sensibly and am able to login now.
I don't know if it has been mentioned but it takes you through an Equifax credit file security check. It asks three multiple choice single answer questions and warns if you answer incorrectly it may put a mark on your credit file. The questions it asked me were ... from which of this list of banks do you have credit card, which year did you move into your property, which of these MM/YYYY did you open one of your current accounts ... the last was a killer!
Edit: as you only got the e-mail today with your account number you may need to wait 24 hours ... that was the case with me (I received that e-mail yesterday).1 -
Many thanks for the reply.I tried this morning and it led me through the process with those CRA questions about a loan etc. The only loan? I have is a phone on contract. Anyway filled in the details as I thought, twice, and the process is now locked until tomorrow! Not in the least intuitive. Not everyone applying has access to Equifax report details either.I rang customer service and was told that they can’t even discuss the account until my debit card arrives. They need some details from it, as well as my account number and sort code. After that they will be able to deal with the security questions by phone.I’ve never had any difficulty before setting up internet access and I’ve done it many times.Just have to wait now!!!!Digital Payback
