CARE PACKAGE

Hello,
My question is regarding care plans and if they are mean tested.
I am disabled and underwent 3 surgeries on my leg in 2023.
The injuries and surgery resulted in me becoming bed-bound during the recovery so upon discharge the Hospital arranged a care plan to support me in my home.
I had complications with the other 2 surgeries so it meant that I remained bed-bound till January this year. However, I still have carers in place as I'm unable to walk due to pain, weakness (loss of muscle) injury and complications.
But in the meantime, I recently received a modest inheritance and now I am worried whether I should inform someone (who?) if the care plan is mean tested or not? If it is can they ask for backpay, even though I never made any agreements and the care plan was never discussed with me but organised buy the Hospital according to my needs?
Thank you

It seems you are receiving 'Continuing Health Care' provided by the NHS? If so it is free, and not affected by your personal financial position.
However if at some point this stopped, and you still needed some level of social care, then the local authority will be responsible to provide it and this will be means tested. Or of course you can just pay for it yourself privately.
