What size depends on how much data you need to store.. Start at 8TB and that should keep you going for a while.

If your OK adding your own drive you can get cases dirt cheap, I have a load of the newer Seagate case/psu units that I bought on sale
after finding out they actually had far more expensive NAS drives in them.  Should be a lot of them on ebay etc.

Removed the drives and fitted them to NAS units which have been running for 24/7 for years without errors.
