Certified Copy of Enduring Power of Attorney

Options
Can someone advise on who can certify an original POA made up in 2002.  I have had a copy of the original POA certified by the Post Office, which has been accepted by a bank, but the HMRC say it needs to be a Solicitor or Stock Broker. If I need to get it certified again, it will cost more money!  TIA

can't imagine why a stock broker is able to certify anything like a POA.

Have you tried the office of public grardian??

Unlike LPAs, you need to register an EPA with the OPG once the donor has lost mental capacity.
  • Hi, it has been registered with the OPG, and I have emailed them but their response time is about 20 weeks !!!

Do you mean that you have sent in the registration documentation?

Or that the have sent you the registered documentation?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • The EPA was sent in to OPG for registration, which has now been done.  I now have the registered document so I can send copies to companies, which is how the query arose, as it was not accepted by one of the companies.

I have since emailed OPG to query who can certify, and I am waiting for an answer but it wont be very quick.

I found a local solicitor who certified a LPA for £25.
