Velux windows overlooking a bedroom?
Comments

My velux really only shows me the sky - I can't "look out" at anything of interest, per se.
People also rarely watch each other. You might catch a glimpse. I live in a row of converted bungalows. All the dormers face each other and technically you could "watch" each other in bedrooms but in reality you see very little. I know which neighbour has a fishtank, I know which one is shy and keeps their blinds down, and I know which neighbour skips naked to the loo in the middle of the night lol. But I don't WATCH any of them.

But some people might, there are plenty of odd folk around.
We had velux windows in our roof & to be honest you couldn't look out of them other than up to see the sky unless they were open
Yes but in the Summer they are quite likely to be open some of the time.

Do people really open their Velux windows and then stand in them to look out (with or without binoculars) to see what their neighbours are doing? I don't and wouldn't.Albermarle said:But I don't WATCH any of them. But some people might, there are plenty of odd folk around.

I honestly think the OP is worried over nothing but if they are worried, some obscuring film on the window or pulling the blind down properly would fix it.
I'm not sure your neighbours want to see you wandering round in the buff, or engaging in 'relations' if that's your concern - I used to work in a place that looked over a house where the middle aged occupants engaged in nude yoga(!) pretty regularly, and no one wanted to look at that 'display'.
Frankly there is a reason that curtains and sportswear were invented...

The kids who used to live in a house across the road to us spent a vast amount of time leaning out of the velux windows whenever they had their friends round.0

Think I can guess but what are the grip type fittings in the above photo.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0

OP, I think it's right to get some answers. You should also consider sell on value, as not being overlooked was one of my OH's priorities, so might be for others. Never bothered me, but we found a house with acres of woodland to the back and bungalows opposite. Phew.0
