Does new price cap affect fixed tariff?

    Simple answer is no. 

    That is the risk you take by fixing, no different to fixing a mortgage.
  • The price cap only applies to the standard variable tariff, the default tariff customers are put on if they don't choose something different.

    People who have chosen to fix are not on the standard variable tariff, and they have actively chosen to accept those fix rates.

    So no, in short, but ↑ that's the explanation why.
