Car Insurance Payout overpaid

Hello and thank you for any help you are able to provide.
Had a car insurance payout which was split in two parts, car damage, and the injury / legal payout. This was made recently, after taking over 2 years and multiple complaints and chasing.
I have just received an email stating that the Injury / legal payment (around £1000) was overpaid and a 25% deduction should have been made for their fees.
I want to fight and point out their failings, how many times I had to send the same documents. What powers do they have to get back the money they over paid?

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.
The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.

They have up to 6 years to claim back any money made in error.Did you receive more than expected? If so, you have no case.0

The time to argue that their success fee should be reduced was when making the complaints. If you accepted whatever remedies they proposed for the complaints that ship sailed.
They will take you to court for breach of contract and get a CCJ against you if they think it's worth it for the monies. You'll have to pay fees on top of the monies owed.0 -
