I did a massive Tesco online shop. They have Pepsi on offer 3 x 24 for £22, hubby needed a new razor and blades that was £24. I stocked up on snacks, treats and the usual meal planning. A lot of it will last 2 weeks, the pop and blades months. I also got some reduced meat in M&S (included in this)

£33.23 spent on a Tesco delivery for branded items. I shop for a neighbour too which means we can make up the minimum £50 order between us. honestly everything fitted into one crate! My neighbour ordered birdseye breaded fish which was £4.50 for 4 fillets not so long ago. It was £6.00 today. Hopefully I am well stocked up now and we will be just buying basics for a while

Not really included in the budget but treated ourselves to wine and chocolate tonight to go with the chilli. 3 double portions of chilli has gone in the freezer though. Tomorrow’s meal will still be out of last week’s shop so not too bad.

PipneyJane said:Good afternoon All
Firstly, apologies @elsiepac, please change my budget to £145.80 for March. We had £5.80 to roll over from February.
Secondly, I have two shops to declare from today. £5.58 spent in L!dl on breakfast cereals, lactose free milk (99p), Black Bread (£1.19), and Cotton Buds (65p). All stuff that was needed but the aim was to push us over the £100 threshold, in order to get a free jar of Lazy Ginger. (Might as well and we’ll need it soon enough.)
The second shop was in Sainsbugs, again to take advantage of some offers. £20.46 spent, mainly on 8 bottles of Fevertree ginger beer (£1.44, down from £2), 3 Yeo Valley honey yoghurts (£1.55 down from £2.15), and various fresh veg.The above brings our March spend to £26.04/£145.80, leaving £119.76 for the rest of the month.
Meal plans for the next few days are:
Today - chicken stir fry made with left-over combi-rice-bulgar-wheat and veg from a chicken tray bake earlier in the week
Friday - Savoury Bread & Butter Pudding (4 slices bread, 1 can tuna, 1 can sweetcorn, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, 100g cheddar)
Saturday - Broccoli & Crème Fraiche Pasta, made with chorizo and
Sunday - roast chicken, which I’ll probably do in the slow cooker and then cook roast potatoes and roast sweet potatoes in our combi-oven
Monday - Chicken risotto made with leftovers from Sunday’s roast. (I have chemo on Monday so DH will probably have to cook it.)
Breakfasts are cereal. Lunches are leftovers. (Virtually all my dinner recipes feed at least four people.)
- Pip
Slight change to the above, because we decided that the Bulk Fund could pay for the Ginger Beer, so £11.46 reimbursed to the GC kitty.
Yesterday involved a trip to the Butcher, a trip to L!dl (£17.06 spent) and then across the road to Sainsbugs where £1.50 was spent on mushrooms. (DH decided that I needed a treat for Monday’s dinner, after chemo, hence the trip to the Butcher’s, where £18.38 was spent by the Meat Fund on a pair sirloin steak. Monday’s planned risotto will be made on Tuesday.)This brings our GC spend to £33.14/£145.80 leaving £112.60 for the rest of the month.

2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge 66 coupons - 25.5 spent.
4 - Thermal Socks from L!dl
4 - 1 pair "combinations" (Merino wool thermal top & leggings)
6 - Ukraine Forever Tartan Ruana wrap
8 - 4 x 100g/450m skeins 3-ply dark green Wool Local yarn
1.5 - sports bra
2 - 100g/220m DK Toft yarn4 -

Apologies, late to the party but joining again with £150 for 2 people.
A bit of a cheat as we have had a huge clear down of freezer stuff so been eating out of that, plus I decided not to include the cat on this one. We did a restock of cat stuff and replacements for broken irons and crockery all in one go at the weekend. Still using the chipped crocks as we have a load of sorting out to do in the kitchen cupboards too.
We also already bought the loo roll and non food groceries. Plus we bought a massive bag of rice. Should keep us in rice for months.
Meal plan:
Saturday's Carribbean lamb curry and Sunday's oxtail stew with herby dumplings is done. Rest of the week looking like this:
Monday - Thai minced pork lettuce cups.
Tuesday - veggie chilli
Wednesday - basa fillet garlic potatoes, coriander salsa.
Thursday - veggie pasta
Friday - lentil dahl and rice
Keep reading books!

@wishus the thai pork lettuce cups sounds great - do you have a recipe - I guess its like mooshu pork?
Grocery £7.49/£150 + £0/£40 bulk + £1.50 crisps/junk
Spend £21.09 but crisps £1.50 + groceries £7.49/
Popped into Sains for a few pre going out dinner snacks for Sat night and a bottle of very nice Rose Cremant £14.50 to £12 - still yet to be drank
tortilla chips £1.50, dips, satsumas, kale, water, tonic water for vodka ... etc
I will start eating down my freezer as last time i did in October it took months - I am offering on a flat to buy - I know it can take months but I am trying to get some ducks in a row - including vinted -selling some things - yet to start but big TO DO in March
I dont count vitamins in my bulk but maybe I should as I moved some previous months bulk excess funds to cover the unplanned spend...
My fav chorella brand (Organ*c Burst) is doing 3 for 2 offer so £42.97 for 3 lots inc postage.. so moved the extra from my bulk money
I take both chorella and spirulina daily and it really helps with my inflammation (allergies) and my hair is thicker it seems and skin glowing... though my led face mask and daily kale helps that
@Suffolk_lass loving the honey info especially on the allergies angle not sure where I find central london honey but I think Fortnum and Mason have some beehives on their roof.. I have just looked and they only sell it from Essex, Shropshire etc not London produced
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

First shop of the month done today. £71.15 spent.I will need to do a top up shop for cheese and a few bits this week. The shopping budget was lower this week because we are just waiting to get paid. It’s been an expensive month due to home improvements so the delay is unfortunate. FC it will be sorted this week.£71.15/£500Save £12k in 2024: £13,542/£12,0004
