@Soontobeoap, I am so sorry about your sister. Sounds like you are doing the best you can given the circumstances.
@otb666, I am sorry about your dad. I think sometimes when you are estranged, the grief is more challenging because the feelings are more complex.
I have already overspent my budget and I am at £258. It's been a busy month - I have done some overtime so net I have still made savings. But I have not had the headspace to budget properly. Done a lot of Hello Fresh too.7 -
@Finstickle - we use smol products and think they are very good. The dishwasher tablets are the best we've ever had. It is also a good way of keeping me out of the washing / dishwasher products aisle where I used to spend a small fortune on branded products with exotic sounding scents.
seem to have spent a lot already this month - need to focus on careful spending to keep within budget.

A couple of shops on Saturday as I've started WW and saw a few things on offer so I bought eggs, vegetable, coco milk, jelly etc. I went to a few different stores and was able to use some points to pay in CO so my shop was only £3.45, spent £18.64 and £10.60 elsewhere. So my shop was £32.69, bringing my total to £86.39.#4 DFBXMAS24 - £2,322.85/£5,000

Good afternoon All
Hope your day is going well. I have two spends to declare from yesterday: £4.13 in L!dl on Gouda cheese and some smoked ham (to take advantage of an offer), and £10.25 in Sainsbugs on assorted veg, dried pasta, tinned sweetcorn, and yoghurts. This brings our GC spend to £131.30/£145.80 leaving £14.50 for the rest of the month.
It’s not as bad as it sounds. We’ve got a lot of food in the cupboards, the fridge and the freezer. Off the top of my head, the only things we’ll need before month end (31st) are fresh milk and mushrooms.

Sigh - another £46.63 added, but again, not as bad as it sounds... £26.37 was the supermarket element of this weekend's big shop, as I had to rearrange my schedule due to a car misbehaving & won't be able to do that tomorrow, as I'll be doing what I should have been doing today! And the other £20.26 was basically stuff for OH, who is still not feeling tickety-boo & felt in need of some (more) treats & soft stuff. Not begrudged, we're still inside the budget. I'll still have the butcher & the market to account for, but can rein in a bit this weekend as there will (probably) only be 3 of us. Until DS3 returns for Easter, of course...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6
