so someone is trying to fob off wife at pra call centre,
More likely, that the person you spoke to misunderstood.0 -
they said they will send her a new letter saying it's enforceable.
they never said they will escalate her complaint, which she has a right to.
cos when I called about my account, they said do I wish to make a complaint, I said yes, when my wife said she wishes to make a complaint, they said they won't allow her to make a complaintChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. What are you actually trying to achieve on this one Stu? You've had confirmed that they are able to supply the relevant documentation and therefore the debt is enforceable. It doesn't sound like them "making different rules" to me - just that things are being handled slightly differently by different call handlers. Was it just that you were hoping for an extra 2 months grace with your wife's account as well?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You know it's enforceable as they sent the documents. I'd just keep my head down and pay it now, putting yourself at the top of their enforceable list isn't going to benefit you.0

pra admitted on Wednesday that they should have stated that the debt is now enforceable, they said the wording of the letter was poor and are giving me £25 as a goodwill gesture into my bank account.
they also said they will accept a f and f offer of £4000 paid in one lump sum or over 6 monthly payments, a reduction of the £5600 I owe them.
obviously I can't do that as it would mean all my other creditors get nothing for 6 months and anyway it's too much per month, but at least I know the standard 5% discount is improving.
when I raised the complaint they offered a 10% discount last month, I asked why the bigger discount now, they said it's a sale price.
hmmm, I hope it will go down again if I can get a lump sum.
I trust pra aren't like shopping for a sofa in a bank holiday sale ,lol.and sale must end soon mentality
they are also investigating why my wife never got the opportunity to raise a complaint and she expects a response soon too.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Negotiation is all about bluffing and counter bluffing. Personally I wouldn't spend any time engaging with them or thinking about their tactics. I'd keep my.head down, keep paying what I can afford and worry about settlement offers if/when I was in a position to make one.1

Based on other comments here, I believe that PRA are known to be difficult re discounts.
But can you clarify why you are even thinking about paying an unenforceable debt?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
it's enforceable RAS, they produced the statements I was waiting for, they produced the credit agreement 3 months ago, but were waiting on statements.
then they wrote recently all documents are now produced, please arrange payment.
I said why are you not changing the status from unenforceable, which they said when they only supplied the agreement, to enforceable when they supplied the statements too.
that was my argument with them, badly worded and communication.
I even said to the caseworker at pra, that they are famous for being unhelpful.
he said he had no comment , but the larger discount still stands at presentChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )
